The association pursues exclusively and directly non-profit purposes. The focus is on promoting sustainable and CO2-neutral tourism.
The purpose of the association is achieved, among other things, through the following measures:
- All ships in the fleet are already under construction and in the future will be 100% climate neutral.
- Essential shipbuilding materials that are not CO2-neutral and unavoidable Co2 emissions from travel are compensated for by sustainable projects in the countries of origin. All activities, whether water sports or shore excursions, are CO2-free.
- The most modern technologies and measures to avoid emissions include the use of renewable energies (especially wind and solar energy), replacement of plastic with sustainable materials, use of environmentally friendly cleaning and care products, waste avoidance/reduction, regional food procurement and cooperation with local partners.
- MMC e.V. strives to promote social and cultural understanding as much as possible and ensure members adhere to increased CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) standards. All activities, whether water sports or shore excursions, are CO2-free.
- MMC e.V. supports small and medium-sized projects in the target areas corresponding to the 17 most important sustainable development goals.
Members include tourism experts, professional divers, kiters, yoga teachers, chefs, bakers, confectioners, journalists, business economists, skippers, meteorologists, IT employees, civil engineers, and specialists in sustainable technologies.
